MAY BLOG TRAIN @ PRETTY SCRAPPY!!!

I can hardly believe it is May 1st already! This year has proven to be nearly as busy as last year. Not quite, but close. This year so far I have been a caretaker to my aunt as she has had 2 surgeries to recover from. The company I work for (a family business) moved to a new location. Wow, that was fun! My church was rocked by a tragic shooting which claimed the (earthly) life of my pastor....leaving us all shocked and grasping for understanding. This month our family will celebrate the 1st birthday of our sweet Caiden Ryan. And in 7 more weeks we will celebrate the same for Trevor David. Can it even be possible a year has passed since those two adorable babies graced our lives? So, it has been busy and looks like it will continue to be so in the future.

On to the May BLOG TRAIN at Pretty Scrappy! The new collaboration kit is called "Dew Drops" and it is just beautiful!!! Blues, greens, and browns, oh my! Just take a look at these previews below. Click on any one of them to be directed the Pretty Scrappy store where you can purchase these awesome kits!

Moving A Business + Senior Prom.....

.....this was my life Saturday. The day started with a run to what is now our "old" shop to get one more complete load in my Tuscan. Then I followed a volunteer driver to the new shop. This driver was pulling our shop foreman's office trailer. Upon merging onto the interstate a the roadside rear outside tire blew. Oy, that scared the bejeezers out of me! I stayed well behind the trailer not knowing when or if any of the tire would come off. I started praying at that moment. I prayed for protection to surround nearby drivers....the volunteer driver....me! Well, God answered my prayer because about 3 1/2 miles up the road one of the a/c's fell out from the side of the trailer and crashed into the center lane causing a pick up to have to dodge it. I slammed on my brakes to slow down as it bounced toward the side of the road. A few air filters that were on a shelf inside the trailer also came tumbling out into the road. No harm done to anyone or anything.....well, except the poor a/c. Thank you Jesus! I was never so glad to see that driver turn into the new yard. Too much adrenaline for that early in the a.m. I then proceeded to start the fun, fun task of opening boxes, emptying boxes, breaking down boxes and then trying to figure out where to put everything. This went of for 7 hours before I realized I was brain dead and needed caffeine and ibuprofens! I said goodbye to the mess and left. Here are some photos of us packing up the old shop & some shots of the new place.
Josh & Billy loading up desks, file cabinets & the fridge onto the flatbed
trailer. My now very bare office!

A view of the old place that has served us well (atleast until the last several years) for almost 20 years!

Jeff, Bill, and Darrell loading up what I believe is an air compressor.

A shot of mine & Brittany's new office. We have a 5ft partition panel going between our desks but it won't be in for another week. So, we are stuck looking at each other for the next week. Poor Brit!!!!

I LOVE this shot! Here is how I would caption it..."Dad, letting the guys know that he is still the OWNER of this company and he will not stand for any slacking around. Get up off your duffs and get to work. Time is money and you don't make money sitting on your rear!" LOL, totally kidding around here :)

Here they are actually working!

After showering and changing clothes I headed out the door to take some photos of my nephew, Jesse, and his girlfriend, Angie, before they left for Jesse's senior prom. Here are some photos of them (aren't they so cute?)!!

Life in Fast Forward!

I didn't realize it had been 7 days since my last post. Yikes, I rarely go that long. But, life has been just a wee bit busy of late. I feel like someone has hit the "fast forward" button!
While work is still on the slow side we are still extremely busy because we are getting ready to relocate our business at the end of this month. That means packing up the items at our current place, cleaning/painting/repairings things at the new place....all the while trying to conduct business as usual, lol.

Last weekend was a blur for me and I just have no clue where the past week went either. Between doctor appts for my aunt, birthday parties, eyeglasses breaking, meetings with alarm monitoring & telephone system people....it was just go-go-go. I kept losing track of what day in the week it was. When Friday came I didn't really remember it.

I have found time in the evenings before crashing to do some scrapbooking. BTW, about my glasses breaking. That was such a blessing in disguise. I have noticed headaches in the evenings after I had scrapbooked for a while. I just thought my eyes were plain tired. Come to find out, my near-sightedness has improved and the glasses I had were too strong so my eyes were working to compensate. I knew things had changed some with my prescription but didn't realize how "unclear" I was seeing until I put my new glasses on. It made me want to break out into song.....I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW, THE RAIN IS GONE....GONNA BE A BRIGHT, BRIGHT, SUN SHINY DAY! Enough of that (be thankful you only had to read lyrics and not listen).
Here are some of the things I have been SBing.....

Caiden with his Nana Julie. He had just been to see the Easter Bunny there where Nana works! Caiden in his bunny ears! Isn't he just too stinkin' cute? This is my first real attempt at photo extractions and I am very happy how it turned out. Julie did a great job choosing a solid, dark background for Caiden to sit in front of. That is what allowed me to create the extractions. Ahhh, my mostest favorite drink....Starbucks Grande Mocha Frappucino! YUM-O!! I am taking a Photoshop Elements Intermediate class through http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/ in order to learn my program a bit more. For our first week we had to create a brush. I chose to create an arrow. We then had to use the brush created in a layout...hence my layout above :)

This is a LO I did for a template challenge at I think GoDigital (ha, I can't remember right now). I chose more photos from my trip to the Butterfly House in Chesterfield.

Well, that is about all. This was a long post but that is what I get for waiting 7 days to blog. I will try to be better but I make no promises:)

Happy Easter!
